Мне здесь где-то приводили, на жалобу по поводу отсутствия Пунто Свитчера для Линукс, скрипт, якобы, полностью удовлетворяющий практические потребности для работы с языковыми панелями на компьютере.

У меня три скрипта один меняет раскладку последнего слова, другой полностью раскладку всей строки, третий раскладку выделенного текста.
     — Понятное дело хорошо работающая специальная программа сделает это автоматически и лучше. Но я обхожусь скриптами и настройкой переключения раскладки Shift’ами (один Shift для одной раскладки, другой соответственно для другой) используя специальный низкоуровневый переключатель. Смысл переключателя в том, что при кратковременном нажатии на Shift происходит переключение раскладки, а при удержании Shift’ы работают в обычном режиме.

программа перестала работать и какое-то время я не мог ничего набрать в той программе, где это произошло.  Затем вылетело сообщение об ошибке и все - gXneur перестал работать но я смог продолжить набирать, используя ручное переключение

пока что все все работает. Только странно, что иногда нормальные русские слова переводит в латиницу, там где конкретно нормальное русское слово
Убил процесс в консоли - стартанул через GUI - все вроде стало нормально отрабатывать на русском, но через 5 минут свалилось )
и если когда все работало - был и gxneur & xneur, то после падения, остался только один

если когда все работало - был и gxneur & xneur, то после падения, остался только один

Запустите систему как обычно, и в момент, когда gxneur перестанет работать посмотрите, есть ли в процессах xneur, если нет, то надо разбираться почему xneur падает. Он не должен падать

 Прилетело обновление gxNeur Ubuntu 18.04 (на 16.04 двумя днями ранее)
По-прежнему при назначении клавиши альтернативных символов флажок падает, при этом сам xNeur продолжает работать.

После долгого плодотворного использования на десктопе (вместе с XXkb, только сам xNeur в ручном режиме, без графики) поставил и на нетбук (AMD C-50, 4 GB RAM, Xubuntu 16.04.5 64 бита):

1. Не сохраняются настройки, в каталоге .xneur лежит только подкаталог .cache с файлом lock.
2. Нет переключения по Shift+Break.
3. Задваиваются буквы при вводе, несмотря на установку "Метод ввода с клавиатуры" в "Не задано" (по умолчанию).
4. Уведомление о запуске/остановке висит на экране, пока по нему не кликнуть.

Пробовал и стабильную и версию в разработке - одинаково. С чего начинать разбор завалов? Или пробовать собирать из исходников?

Прилетело обновление gxNeur Ubuntu 18.04

Не знаю, что там Crew сделал в обновлении, но на Gnome3 заработало. Не так как в 16.04 работало конечно, но хоть так. Не все слова переключает, приходится следить и исправлять конечно, но это лучше, чем ничего)
