Репозитории Ubuntu 8.10

Всем привет....=)

Читал на форуме много тем на тему РЕПОЗИТОРИЕВ, но так и ничего не понял, все очень запутанно....прошу мне помочь разобраться.

Значит как  понимаю Репозитории у нас вносятся в synaptic(е) в НАСТРОЙКИ ->  РЕПОЗИТОРИИ....
далее ИСТОЧНИКИ ПРИЛОЖЕНИЙ -> ПО СТОРОННИХ ПРОИЗВОДИТЕЛЕЙ
->чтобы их добавить надо нажать на вкладку ДОБАВИТЬ

теперь как я понимаю нам надо знать сайты этих репозиториев (хранилищ), кому не трудно напишите пожалуйста ссылки репозиториев)))

еще на сколько  я знаю можно отредактировать /sources.list командой  sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
если я не ошибаюсь то это одно и тоже что и прописывать их через synaptic, если нет то как правильно редактировать sources.list

мой sources.list выглядет так ( что обозначают # (решетки и какие еще ссылки надо добавить))
