apt-get install phpmyadmin как исправить??

смотри почему нельзя поставить php-mcrypt

сам же напортачил с зависимостями, вытянув левую php 5.3

поищи php 5.3 deb пакет для своего дистрибутива или собери пакет из сырцов

А вообще под рутом зачем ставить?
Под обычным  пользователем делай sudo apt-get install programname

1.добавляешь в  /etc/apt/sources.list

deb-src http://php53.dotdeb.org stable allудали Ubuntuвскую репу с php, если добавлял

2.качаешь ключ

wget http://www.dotdeb.org/dotdeb.gpg
cat dotdeb.gpg | apt-key add -
3. устанавливаешь php и phpmyadmin
apt-get update
apt-get install phpmyadmin (здесь смотри вывод перед подтверждением, должен быть php 5.3)
