ASUS 167g как SOFT AP на ubuntu 9.10- проблемы

на стационарный компьютер установлена Ubuntu 9.10. Все пакеты взяты из репозитория через менеджер пакетов.
с помощью hostapd поднята программная точка доступа.
Точка запускается, Работает минут 10 и падает. При этом ноутбук, подключенный к ней продолжает "вроде как быть подключенным к точке", но на самом деле уже не работает. Точка еще обнаруживается другим ноутбуком, но к ней уже не подключается. Еще через пару минут точка становится совсем недоступной, и прекращает появляться в поиске сетей. Клиентские ноутбуки под управлением Windows 7.
Асусовский брелок замечательно уже несколько лет работает как SOFT AP под виндой.
