Что, так ни кто и не может понять в чём дело? Почему, когда стояла Linux Mint "Росинка", сканер работал. Как только установил обычный Linux Mint, перестало работать. Под RunTo работает нормально.

Приветствую всех.
Помогите, please, установить МФУ Brother MFC-5910DW.
На сайте Brother пишут, что драйверы есть и даже дают из скачать. Скачиваю Driver Install Tool и делаю всё так, как написано на сайте. Однако всё завершается вот таким сообщением в терминале: "Driver-packages cannot be found.  Confirm the model name." А если скачиваю отдельно LPR, то запускается Центр приложений Ubuntu, нажимаю "Установить", но потом кнопка "Установить" снова появляется, как будто ничего не установлено, и далее по кругу.

Тоже сканер Brother 7057r не определялся на ubuntu/xubuntu/linux lite/mint-xfce 14.04/14.10 - при нормально работающем принтере.

1. Установил драйверы для сканера отсюда .
2.выполнил - dpkg -l | grep Brother
3. Дописал
sudo gedit /lib/udev/rules.d/40-libsane.rules

# brother dcp-7057r
ATTRS{idVendor}=="04f9", ATTRS{idProduct}=="0273", ENV{libsane_matched}="yes"
4. Сканер определяется.

Файл 40-libsane.rules скопировал в /etc/udev/rules.d/

на 15.04 принтер печатал, помню, что ставил драйвера от другой модели. сканером не заморачивался

поставил 15.10, врубил МФУ, попробовал в консоли завести его согласно мануалу производителя, не завёлся хех
на сайте Brother пишут, что требуется lib32stdc++ или ia32-libs
второй из пакетов не поставить, а по поводу первого:

трогать эту либу я не решился, попробовал пойти дальше
загрузил .deb с сайта Brother и далее dpkg -i --force-all  (lpr-drivername)

Здравствуйте. Драйвера устройства установлены и всё печатает и сканирует на ура. Система "Kubuntu 16.04 64-bit". Вопрос по утилите сканера "brscan-skey".
Если на МФУ "Brother DCP-7057r" нажать сканирование и выбрать на ЖК дисплее МФУ: "на компьютер", то скан отправляется прямиком туда куда его послали, попутно открывается "GIMP" со сканом в своём окне. Так происходит в Windows, а вот в "Linux" - "Ubuntu", "Debian", после нажатия всего, что нужно на аппарате, открывается "GIMP", одновременно создаётся в домашней директории папка "brscan" и всё..., появляется информационное окно:

драйвера вроде встали
в /lib/udev/rules.d/40-libsane.rules
строку добавил, но

С год назад помогал кому-то запустить сканер (по сети) 64 бита. С моего компа (32бита) сканировал, с его нет. Что-то было типа - в инструкции или в советах при установке где-то большую на маленькую букву поменять надо было (именно для 64 бит). Уже точно не помню . Просил его на форум написать, но что-то не нашел...

Тото и оно, что по инструкции сейчас сделать не получится, т.к. Библиотеки ia32-libs не поддерживаются а lib32stdc++ ставится с ошибками

хммм, интересная штука обнаружилась
в ответ на sane-find-scanner
получаем в том числе
found USB scanner (vendor=0x04f9, product=0x0273) at libusb:001:009
-----
получается просто не подцепляентся запись-соответствие из файла
 /lib/udev/rules.d/40-libsane.rules
ATTRS{idVendor}=="04f9", ENV{libsane_matched}="yes"
также пробовал

Сейчас на сайте брозера лучше скачивать не драйвера, а терминальное приложение. оно и драйвера качает и устанавливает все - и принтер, и сканер
