[HOWTO] Выковыриваем pulseaudio из Ubuntu 9.10, 10.04

Перечитал я всю тему, так как были проблемы после обновления с 9.04 на 9.10. Применил все что тут написанно.
Потом плюнул и поставил 9.10 на чисто. Два дня полет отличный. Результат на лицо, задержек нету, треска тоже, звук идет одновременно во всех запущенных приложениях. Тоесть, слушаю МП3 в  Audacious , видео в VLC, при этот и  Скайп звонит. Микрофон работает и внешний и встроеный. Да и что меня удивило, на мой взгляд звук от пульса намного лучше ИМХО.

А вы бы ещё такие подробности привели для убедительности:

lspci -v

Доброго времени суток собратьям по ос.
Решил я целиком удалить pulseaudio, зашел в менеджер пакетов, ввел в поиск pulseaudio, выделил все пакеты в которых было это название, и не посмотрев на связи удалил. После этого нашел все файлы в названии которых было pulseaudio, и так же их всех удалил. Перезагрузил компьютер, и теперь не могу войти в систему. После ввода пароля, экран тухнет на пару секунд, и предлагает вновь залогинится. Прошу помощи

Неправильно удаляли.

Попробуйте так:

Boot into recovery mode

Исполняешь:

apt-get update

apt-get --reinstall install ubuntu-desktop

если не сработает, тогда просто:

apt-get install ubuntu-desktop

Пошел вторым вариантом, помогло, спасибо. Правда все пакеты с ненавистным пульсаудио вернулись. Буду удалять методами предложенными в этой теме.

Перечитал я всю тему, так как были проблемы после обновления с 9.04 на 9.10. Применил все что тут написанно.
Потом плюнул и поставил 9.10 на чисто. Два дня полет отличный. Результат на лицо, задержек нету, треска тоже, звук идет одновременно во всех запущенных приложениях. Тоесть, слушаю МП3 в  Audacious , видео в VLC, при этот и  Скайп звонит. Микрофон работает и внешний и встроеный. Да и что меня удивило, на мой взгляд звук от пульса намного лучше ИМХО.

А вы бы ещё такие подробности привели для убедительности:

Заодно сообщите сколько CPU (и RAM) потребляет gnome-settings-daemon

Меня совсем не интересует создание аудио файлов. Достаточно того что я с грабил CD в RipperX и все отлично. И как я писал выше, звучание гораздо лучше чем в 9.04. От добра добра не ищут

Я тоже ручками удалял пульса, и ubuntu-desktop тоже сносил, только описанных проблем не было. После ребута звук работал, только его никак нельзя было изменять (кроме как из самих приложений). Пока "подлечил" звук только по методу Stiff'а...

1. ALSA без PulseAudio
2. OSS4

Проблема с ALSA (Ubuntu 9.10)!!!
Поэтому простое удаление PulseAudio не всем помогает.
В этом случае надо ремонтировать ALSA

Являюсь владельцем карты M-Audio Revolution 5.1 (чип VIA Envy24). В Ubuntu 9.10 звук нормально заработал только с удалением pulseaudio и заменой alsa на ossv4.
