UBUNTU модем не найден

Кабель pl2303 ttyUSB есть .
модем не найден. Почему?

проги не видят модем  как его создать  на ttyUSB0 виртуальном порте?  motorola c261 или sagem 850  в винде с этим кабелем нет проблем
 поставил там модем в устройствах  и все работает
запускаю сценарий для модема - loced pid 5678 и.т.п
интернета нет, помогите!

Видимо сидит модем на tty8 - так в minicom, как бы не на своем порту   Что сделать
