Проблема с разрешением экрана в 12.04

Здравствуйте здешние обитатели. Проблемка у меня. После установления 12.04 разрешение очень низкое, аж глаза болят. Нашел бпоблему,стоит по умолчанию второй монитор ( У меня вообще пишет ноутбук). Нашел и решения:

На аналогичной графической плате я удалял второй монитор с помощью передачи одного параметра для ядра:
"video=LVDS-1:d".
Ниже приведен пример куска файла "/boot/grub/menu.lst" для первой версии grub.

После установки Ubuntu 12.04 с удивлением обнаружил, что 17-ти дюймовый монитор работает в режиме 1024x768. Зашёл в Настройки - Мониторы и увидел два экрана. Первый фейковый с названием "Ноутбук" и второй настоящий LG.
Из терминальной строки запустил:

$ xrandrУтилита показала мне два видеовыхода: LVDS1 и VGA1. Нужно отключить LVDS1. Добавление в автозагрузку команды:

$ xrandr --output LVDS1 --off --output VGA1 --autoне устраивает. Хотелось бы выключить этот LVDS1 навсегда.

Изменил в /etc/default/grub строчку передачи параметров ядру:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="video=LVDS-1:d"

$ sudo update-grubПерегрузил систему и убедился, что на данный момент фейковый видеовыход выключен и разрешение экрана устанавливается в максимально возможное для моего монитора.

НО! В первом случае,у меня нет файла "/boot/grub/menu.lst" а создать его нет доступа.
во втором случае изменить файл grub не могу,опять же отказано в доступе.
Подскажите,что я не так делаю или какой нибудь другой вариант решения...

Не помогло. У меня почему-то в настройках экранов стоит "Ноутбук"  Хотя у меня не ноут однозначно ) Как можно изменить?

Помогите, пожалуйста, разобраться с проблемой. ЖК TV  в кач-ве монитора LG LD320, разрешение у него 1366х768. Подключен шнурком VGA, карта встроенная Intel PowerVR SGX545.
1. Настройка экранов - откуда-то появляется Ноутбук, соотв. рабочий стол он мне растягивает вправо. Пробовал редактировать GRUB - не помогает.

2. Не могу выставить разрешение 1366х768. Доступно только 1360х768, но при этом дикое мыло.
Пытался редактировать по найденным советам xorg.conf, т.е. выполнял: gtf 1366 768 60
Результат:

Добавлял эту строку в xorg.conf, после перезагрузки в Мониторах остается только Ноутбук с разрешением 1024х768 4:3.
Пытался выполнить следующее:

 Как убрать ноутбук из мониторов и установить 1366х768? Спасибо заранее за помощь!
