Удаление всех визуальных оболочек и вопрос про запуск системы

Я не знаю, как это называется, но помоему визуальные оболочки (это gnome и тд).
В общем. У меня можно выбрать : Gnome, Gnome classic, Gnome classic (no effect), ubuntu, ubuntu 2d
Как мне удалить все оболочки, оставив только ubuntu ?
Ведь как я понял, они тормозят загрузку системы.
И второй вопрос. Ubuntu у меня грузится как-то не красиво. При загрузке на мониторе показываются какие-то поцессы консоли (или биоса). Если нужно видео - сниму.
Короче говоря, можно это все замеить черным экраном, или каким-то фоном? А то смотрится ну уж очень не красиво

если не мудрили с xinitrc, то лишние DE не будут тормозить, только занимать место на диске.
по поводу загрузки - в параметрах ядра стоит splash screen?

Сплаш конечно закроет "некрасивый вывод" но вот тормозов на загрузке - только прибавит.

Материнскую плату не знаю где посмотреть. Если нужны еще данные - напишите, какие именно
И еще, сможете сказать, это железо нормальное для пользования ubuntu? Знаю, что оно не новое. Просто бывают проскакивают небольшие подлагивания интерфейса.
