8.04 Compiz жрет память

у меня 2 гб памяти, компиз сжирает 800 мб. за пол дня работы. смотрю карту памяти, есть nvidia0 в бешенном ко-ве и каждая по 3-10 мб. Это нормально? через некоторое время система начинает жутко тормозить, иногда вообще виснет и только ресет спасает. Как лечить?

Версию драйвера и логи иксорга в студию :-)

У меня 2 колонки в системном мониторе: память и резидентная память, так вот памяти там 30 мб, а резидентной 800. при запуска любого приложения размер резидентной памяти увеличивается и не уменьшается при закрытии...

Ну что сказать, 450 метров - многовато ;) попробуй установи последние дрова нвидиа: в гатси, насколько мне известно, таким образом утечка памяти в компизе лечилась.

hades, такие объёмные текста, как вывод ксорга, лучше прикреплять отдельным файлом, а не копипастить в пост. Предупреждение можно схлопотать;-)

кроме как переустановка драйвера идеи какие-нибудь есть? Рядом комп. такой же конфы, правда там едро .16, а у меня новое .17 и дрова посвежее пришли.... с тем компом - все ок....

У меня на NVidia стоят дрова не из репов, а с сайта производителя. Все ОК. Попробуй таким макаром. Еще можно попробовать откатить ядро назад на -16 версию, про семнадцатую слышал много плохого, да и у самого баги были с ней. Удачи!
